Goring man, 36, remains critically ill after plunging through Eastbourne roof

A man remains critically ill after falling through a roof.

The 36-year-old, of Goring, Worthing, was last night still fighting for his life after plunging through the roof of Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Hawthorn Road, Eastbourne, at 2.25pm on Wednesday.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “He was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious head and chest injuries before being transferred to Hurstwood Park Neurological Unit, Haywards Heath.

“He was a contractor working at the site when the incident happened.

“The incident is now being investigated the Health and Safety Executive construction division.”
