Two neighbours have come together to help keep the homeless warm this festive period.

Jenny Barrett and Gaynor Williams, who live in Hove, are asking people to dig out their unused winter coats and jackets to give to those living on the streets.

The pair only dreamt up the Share the Warmth campaign a fortnight ago but have already gained the support of local business figures including the Big Beach Café in Hove Lagoon.

With the help of a team of volunteers and organisations including Albion in the Community, they will deliver goods to charities including Brighton Housing Trust, Off the Fence, Antifreeze, The Clocktower Sanctuary, and St John's Ambulance.

They also have permission from Southern Railway to collect coats at Brighton station tomorrowí.

The campaign has set-up a number of drop-off centres in Brighton, Hove, Lewes, and Portslade.
