Twenty-five firefighters battled a blaze which broke out at a chippie.
It occurred at a fish and chip shop in Hastings’ Old Town.
Crews were in Rock-a-Nore Road between 10.53am and 2.49pm today.
An East Sussex Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “At the height of the incident 25 firefighters were at the scene.
“Sixteen breathing apparatus were used along with compressed air foam, water and the aerial ladder platform.
“A fire investigation is currently underway.”
