Burglar tricks his way in 102-year-old's home and steals £200
A burglar tricked his way into the home of a 102-year-old man.
The man tricked the victim into letting him into his home in Selmeston Road, Eastbourne, by saying he had come around for a chat at about 4pm on Tuesday, December 10.
He asked to use the toilet but then left the property.
The victim then discovered that his wallet was missing and about £200 had gone.
The thief was white, athletically built and with a sharp nose and short dark hair. He had a waist-length zipped-up jacket, trousers and white sports shoes.
Detective Constable Sean Stapley said: "The thief abused the trusting nature of the victim to con his way into his home and steal his money.
"I would appeal to anyone in the community who can help to contact us so that we can bring this man to justice.
"Hopefully someone saw the man in Selmeston Road on Tuesday or the days beforehand or will recognise him from the e-fit.
"He may have targeted other vulnerable people in the past and could claim more victims unless we arrest him.
"I am determined that we will catch him but we need the public's help."
