Thousands of people braved stormy weather to mark this year's Burning The Clocks parade.
Despite bosses warning the traditional fire and fireworks wouldn't go ahead this year over safety fears, participants wrapped up warm and took to the streets to celebrate the winter solstice.
Each year participants create paper and willow lanterns to carry through the city before passing them into a fire on Brighton beach, accompanied by dancers, drummers and entertainers.
