A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run collision which may have left a teenager blind in one eye.
The 16-year-old boy suffered serious head injuries and has undergone surgery in an effort to save his sight.
Police have arrested a 24-year-old London man and recovered a vehicle from an address in the capital in relation to the incident, which happened shortly after 11am on Christmas Day.
The man has been released on bail until February while enquiries continue.
The collision involved a blue Skoda Octavia taxi and a silver Vauxhall Insignia at the junction of Church Road and Sackville Road in Hove.
