A teacher is trying to track down a couple after he unexpectedly captured the moment they got engaged.

Richard Enticknap, 30, was taking a stroll along Brighton’s seafront waiting for the sun to set to capture some twilight shots when he spotted a man proposing to his partner under Brighton Bandstand.

The Cedar Centre teacher, who spotted the couple on Wednesday evening, said: “There were lots of people coming and going but then I spotted this couple together and saw the proposal and took a quick shot.

“They were hugging for a long time and kissing, but I wanted to speak to them after they were finished.

“When they left I must’ve been distracted – on my phone probably – so I missed them unfortunately.

“I proposed to my wife a few years ago and if someone had taken a photo while I was doing it I would have loved a copy of the image.”

The keen photographer has shared the image on Facebook but is hoping The Argus’ readers will be able to help unite the couple with this unique picture.
