Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne and Sussex Police Chief Constable Martin Richards will give evidence to MPs today at the Home Affairs Select Committee (HASC) in Parliament regarding PCCs and their progress to date.
Issues on the agenda include the role of PCCs in promoting police integrity; encouraging public awareness and engagement in their work; the relationship between PCCs and their police and crime panels and the effects that PCCs have had on reducing crime since taking office.
Commenting ahead of tomorrow’s Select Committee Katy Bourne said: "This is the first time I have appeared before the HASC. I welcome the opportunity to discuss my role as Police and Crime Commissioner for Sussex and recognise the importance for PCCs to be objectively scrutinised and held to account in this way.”
The HASC is due to start at 2.45pm.
