The 73-year-old pedestrian suffered serious but not life-threatening head injuries after he was in collision with a silver Mercedes-Benz saloon car in Grand Parade, Eastbourne on Tuesday evening.

The collision occurred close to Trinity Place shortly after 5pm.

The road was temporarily closed while the man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
