A hair-raising strong woman pulled a four ton truck 20 metres along a Brighton street with just her flowing locks.

Circus of Horrors performer Anastasia IV went back to her roots to pull the truck by her hair outside The Theatre Royal in New Road, yesterday afternoon.

To prove it was no flaxen fluke the Polish-born performer then repeated the trick outside The Congress Theatre in Carlisle Road in Eastbourne just hours later.

The 27-year-old holds a world record after holding another person weighing 53.4 kg with her hair while suspended upside down in Milan.

She told The Argus that she learned she had powerful hair at school when boys pulled at her locks and failed to move her.

Did this story make you chuckle? Here are some more recent quirkies to tickle your fancy:

She was inspired to join the Circus of Horrors after seeing a show in London – giving up her career as a bio chemist to run away with the circus.

She added: “It went extremely well. It always hurts a little bit but I have been doing hair pulling for years – it’s now more a sensation than a pain.”

She hopes her next hair-pulling feat will be to stop a small plane taking off only with her locks.
