A popular powder paint party is heading back to Sussex after a successful launch last year.

Brighton and Hove will experience The Color Run presented by Dulux again this year, as the event re-visits the city.

The festival will see people dress in white and cover each other with brightly coloured powder, on the hour, every hour, whilst enjoying live dance music.

Last year a cloud of rainbow paint marked the start of the race on Madeira Drive as 6,000 entrants joined the lively party atmosphere dressed from head to toe in white, and it will return to the same location in mid-September.

Joe Rafferty, the event's director, said: “We are returning to Brighton because, genuinely, we had a good time and the whole city embraced it from the start.

“The council and various bodies in the planning stage through to the participants were brilliant.

“There was a massive passion to get back to Brighton and, in fact, Brighton was the first venue we confirmed for 2014.

“This year will be bigger and better and I say that because we're more confident having done it last year and we have a longer run-up to it.

“What we want is for the Color Run to become a real part of post-summer Brighton.”

The Color Run, also known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet, is a unique color race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, individuality, and giving back to the community.

Less about your 10-minute-mile and more about having the time of your life, The Color Run is a five-kilometre, un-timed race in which thousands of participants are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometre.

The fun continues at the finish line with a gigantic “Color Festival,” using more colored powder to sign off the day.
