Pantomime organisers are all dressed up and raring to go for their racy show.

Drag queen dames and dirty humour a plenty will be on the menu as The Alternative Panto brings its version of Robin Hood to Brighton Dome Studio Theatre in the coming weeks.

Despite hundreds of tickets already being sold and thousands of pounds expected to be raised for charity, organisers criticised those that run the venue for a lack of marketing.

It comes after the pantomime was at risk of not going ahead in 2014 as it “did not fit in”

with the studio theatre’s programme.

Brian Ralfe said: “The marketing department has fallen on its face. We have had one poster and a tiny mention in their brochure.

“Aside from that preparations are going well and the cast are ready to traipse around the forest of Brighton and Hove looking for the lovely Maid Marion.”

In response, Andrew Comben, of Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival, said: “The Alternative Panto is a long-standing and muchloved part of our programme.

“We want it to do well and are doing everything we can to make sure that is the case.”

The show will run from January 21 to 26 and January 30 to February 2.
