A woman was conned by a man pretending to be a police officer.

He knocked on the door of her home in Aldsworth Avenue, Goring, Worthing, at 5.30pm on Friday.

The man told the elderly woman he was an officer and he needed to check the house. While in the address the man stole her handbag.
