A schoolgirl missing for more than a week has prompted a police appeal.

Chloe Newman, 14, from Uckfield, was last seen getting into a black car at Haywards Heath railway station at 2.50pm on January 7.

Several people have said they think they may have seen her since then but none of them have been confirmed.

When Chloe went missing she was wearing a pink hooded jacket with a black sleeveless jacket, black trousers, blue Vans and large curtain ring earrings.

She is slim and had her long blonde hair up in a ponytail.

Inspector Philip Hogan, of Sussex Police, said: "Chloe has gone missing before but never for this length of time.

“We are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare due to her young age, vulnerability and the length of time she has been missing.

“We need to find her to see how she is.

“We believe she could be in Newhaven, Lewes or the surrounding area where we believe she has some friends.

“If you know where Chloe is please get in touch with us. If you speak to her, please ask her to contact us.”
