Lancing councillor joins Ukip

The Argus: Liz Haywood Liz Haywood

A former Liberal Democrat Lancing parish councillor has joined Ukip.

Liz Haywood, the Lancing parish councillor for Mash Barn ward since 2012, has joined Ukip, bringing the party's parish contingent to four.

Ms Haywood said: “After very careful reflection I left the Liberal Democrats because of the obvious lack of political direction in that party and have been sitting temporarily as an independent.

“It has become clear to me that too many councillors nowadays are under duress to obey a particular party line.

“Ukip's distinct policy of not compelling its councillors to act in this way, but letting them champion the views of the residents, was the clincher in the end.

“I am very much looking forward to playing a long term and very active role in local government, especially with the prospect for major change in the political balance here.”

If true, this could bring about a major change in local politics and government - a change for the better in my opinion. It is well time that residents were not only heard, but supported in council chambers accross the land.......

........however first of all those same residents would have to be prepared to actually go out and VOTE, which in hindsight, is why we ended up with the administration we did in this city.

I just hope that the current council has done enough to shake and challenge the apathy of the general populace here. If piles of rubbish in the street won't make us seek an alternative, nothing, short of banning us from travelling to the poling station by car, will.

Expect more of this if UKIP get their way (and this guy wasn't even Eastern European!)
UKIP depersonalises people into being just labels!

(And they're not really interested in local politics they just want support for their national closed door policy, but are prepared for other people to use their name.)

Congratulations Liz on joining the 'Common Sense' Party - UKIP. You have joined us at a very important time. If Britain is to retain it's sovereignty it is vital we achieve the maximum success at each election - & this next double election is so important. The Euro MEP & Borough elections on 22nd May could provide the platform that UKIP need for success at the General Election. One thing to bear in mind when voters go to the polls is this:
Viviane Reding, vice president of the European Commission and the longest serving Brussels commissioner, has called for "a true political union" to be put on the agenda for EU elections this spring.
"We need to build a United States of Europe with the Commission as government and two chambers – the European Parliament and a "Senate" of Member States," she said.
Mrs Reding's vision, which is shared by many in the European institutions, would transform the EU into superstate relegating national governments and parliaments to a minor political role equivalent to that played by local councils in Britain.

If this is what the British electorate desire they need only vote for the LibLabCon. All three parties desire full political union but dare not admit it just yet. If you do not want to see our sovereignty & Common Law disappear there is only one party to vote for - UKIP!

Sorry, but how does this actuially help local council tax paying residents get their bins emptied....their roads surfaced.....their homeless problems alleviated?

This sounds like more of the same to me - but with a different single trick pony.
