Brighton and Hove City Council wants to hear from residents and business owners who live near party houses.

The venues, which cater for stag and hen parties, have attracted a lot of attention over recent months following complaints of anti-social behaviour.

The council has fixed a scrutiny panel meeting to explore the issue – and they want to hear your views. Councillors at the January 28 meeting want to hear about people’s experiences, what they think the problems are and what solutions they would like.

They will also be looking for examples of good practice which can be taken up by party house owners.

Councillor Geoffrey Bowden, who will chair the panel, said: “Properly managed party houses can bring financial benefit to the city contributing to the visitor economy.

“However, some of these premises can give rise to antisocial behaviour and cause a considerable nuisance to local communities.”
