A flat is on fire at a property in Bloomsbury Place, Brighton.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue were called to the scene shortly after 8.30 this morning (Wednesday).
A passerby said: “The glass in the windows is all blown out as it was so hot inside. The place is compeltely and utterly black.”
Sussex Police said the road remained open.
A spokeswoman from East Sussex Fire and Rescue said: "Two units were called to the road shortly after 8.30am after reports of a flat fire. Four breathing aparartus and two hose reels were used. There are no reports of any casualties at this stage."
