A budding dancer is appearing in the new Cadbury’s Creme Egg advert after seeing off thousands of other hopefuls.

Amelie Hurley shot to fame in December 2012 when she starred in the Marks & Spencer Christmas commercial.

The nine-year-old from Saltdean is now set to be the most popular pupil at Queen's Park Primary School after being given 11 boxes of the Cadbury’s Eggs.

She said: “It was really good fun and I got to eat 100 to 130 eggs.

“It’s still strange seeing myself on the TV because you never know when the advert is going to be on. All my friends at school are really excited.”

The advert, which promotes the new Creme Egg product Egg ‘n’ Spoon, was premiered last week.

The budding performer, who started dancing aged just three, has previously appeared in adverts for the BBC, Virgin, and Nintendo.

She auditioned for her latest role last autumn and was chosen for the shoot shortly before Christmas.

Proud mum, Jean, said: “She had four days of rehearsals before the actual shoot.

“They wanted her to put her personality into the choreography so she used some of her street dancing moves.

“I’m really proud of her because she really put herself into it and the advert looks great.”

The Argus: That's Good News

Amelie, who has been doing street dancing for the last three years, is the current under 10s South Coast solo and doubles champion.

She said: “I love street dancing because it’s good fun and really exciting. I like making up moves and I really like popping and krumping.

She added: “When I’m older I really want to be a dancer, I really enjoy it. But as well as dancing I also want to help out the children you see in Children In Need.”

The advert will be on TV in the run up to Easter.
