The Council intend not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make the following 4 Orders under the provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended.

(PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. 51 SCHOOL LANE, DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY PUBLIC FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2014

The effect will be to close to pedestrian traffic a section of Footpath 51, known as School Lane, to enable proposed construction works of a first floor extension to St. Oswalds C of E Infant & Nursery School from the eastern side of the main entrance to the school to the NW corner of Oswald House, Durham to be executed.
The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 6 months and is required from 8am on 17.02.14 and for the duration of the works, anticipated to be 6 months. An alternative route will be available for pedestrian traffic from the eastern side of the closure via the footway leading to Oswald Court then north westerly through the park to Church Street on the western side of the closure and vice versa.
(MOOR CRESCENT GILESGATE DURHAM) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2014
The effect will be to close to vehicular traffic to enable carriageway reconstruction works to be undertaken on a 117m length of Moor Crescent that extends northwards from its junction with Marshall Terrace, Gilesgate.
The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 17.02.14 for the duration of the works, anticipated to be 4 weeks. An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from southern side of the closure via Alma Place, C13 and Willow Tree Avenue or Sunderland Road, Churchill Avenue, Montgomery Road, Pilgrim's Way and Willow Tree Avenue to the northern side of the closure, and vice versa.
(WOOD STREET & GREEN STREET, SHOTLEY BRIDGE, CONSETT) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2014
The effect will be to close to vehicular traffic a 110m length of Wood St. that extends northwards from its junction with Farriers Way to Green St., Shotley Bridge; and a 35m length of Green St. that extends westwards from its junction with Wood St., Shotley Bridge in order that flood alleviation sewer improvement works can be carried out.
The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and isrequiredfrom17.02.14forthedurationoftheworks, anticipatedtobe6weeks. An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic via Front St. and the southern access to Wood St. adjacent Shotley Bridge.
(STEPPED FOOTPATH OFF FOOTPATH 16 (BLIND LANE), DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2014
The effect will be to close to pedestrian traffic a 10m length of stepped footpath that extends between Footpath No. 16 (Blind Lane) and Beech Crest, Durham City in order that reconstruction of the stepped footpath can be carried out.
The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 6 months and isrequiredfrom17.02.14forthedurationoftheworks, anticipatedtobeupto2 weeks, whichever is the sooner. An alternative route will be available to pedestrian traffic from the south western side of the closure from Blind Lane footpath westwards onto Crossgate Peth then north eastwards along Crossgate Peth and eastwards along the segregated footpath leading to Nevilledale Terrace, Brierville & Beech Crest to the north eastern side of the closure, and vice versa.
However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for the above 4 closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
(SHINCLIFFE, HIGH SHINCLIFFE & BOWBURN) (PARKING & WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2014
The Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 and part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the purpose of which will (A) convert all existing traffic regulation orders into map based schedule orders covering the following locations: Shincliffe: High St., Stockton Rd. & Willowtree Ave; Bowburn: Bowburn North Ind. Est. Rd., Durham Rd., Durham Rd West., Crow Trees Lane, Clarence St., Wylam St. & Surtees Ave.; and (B) Extend the existing No Waiting/Loading Mon-Fri 8am-6pm restriction on Crow Trees Lane from Wylam St. to Clarence St.
