Two people injured and two cows dead after herd escape onto busy carriageway

The Argus: Two cows dead and two people injured after herd of cows escape onto dual carriageway Two cows dead and two people injured after herd of cows escape onto dual carriageway

A herd of around 30 cows escaped a field and strayed into a busy carriageway.

They escaped into the A280 road in Angmering at around 22.30 last night.

A car ploughed into the herd, killing two of the animals.

One person was trapped in the vehicle before being released by emergency services before they, and another passenger, were taken to hospital.

If the driver was actually on a dual carriage way when this happened, they were not paying proper attention to where they were driving.

This story is so badly written.

Poor cows - what a horrific way to die for them. What's happened to the injured cows?

This is exactly what will happen on Ditchling Road if the Greens get their way to allow sheep and cattle to wander freely over the (unlit) road between Wodbourne Avenue and Old Boat Corner. People and more animals will die, as the result of yet another Green vanity project.

Not sure why this is described as a dual carriageway, as it is a single carriageway road. There is a short section with islands to assist in the separation of traffic at the junction, but this does not make it a dual carriageway.

So what! Is it of any importance?

Yes it is - there have been a number of collisions down this road where people seem to think it is a dual carriageway. False information like this just increases the likelihood of more.
