A van smashed into a fence.

Officers were called to Beach Road, Selsey, near Chichester, at 8.45am on Wednesday after a white Vauxhall Astra van hit the side fence of a home.

A 45-year-old man from Selsey was taken to St Richard's Hospital in Chichester as a precaution suffering from chest pain.

PC Andy Green said: "I'm keen to speak to anyone who saw the crash or who saw the Vauxhall being driven in the minutes beforehand.

"If you know anything at all please contact us."

Call Sussex Police on 101.
