Newhaven mum hunting for lost trainers designed by daughter who died of leukaemia
The search is on to reunite a mum with a pair of shoes that hold sentimental value as they were designed by her daughter before she died.
Shelley Wright, 33, from Newhaven, is on the hunt to find the Nike trainers designed by her loving daughter Jasmine, who died of leukaemia last summer aged 14.
Jasmine’s clothes were donated to charity shops in Newhaven but the shoes were accidentally placed among the bags.
Miss Wright said: “I got them for her for the Christmas before she fell ill.

“Jasmine had been asking for them for ages and then spent days online designing them – everything from the words to the colours, fabric and laces were done by her to her liking on Nike USA’s website.
“We were the same size shoe, so I’d borrow them occasionally because they were so funky.
“She didn’t over-wear them either, just when it went with her outfit.
“She really liked them – they were originals so nobody else has got a pair like that in the world.”
The Nike trainers are black with purple and orange trim embroidered with the words “Made For Jasmine” on the back.
Miss Wright added: “They were fab shoes, but not a big thing really in the grand scheme of things – just shoes.
“But when I thought about them a couple of months after she died I realised they had gone.
“It would be so good to get them back, they’re hers.
“She made them, walked in them and I’ve got pictures of them.
“It’s just amazing to see how much support has been generated for Jasmine.
“Jasmine touched so many people with her beautiful soul, only wanting the best for everyone else and never herself.
“She had so much love and has left a huge hole in my heart as well as others.”
