I'm sure anyone who regularly uses Walthamstow Central will have noticed the council's advertisements along the escalators trumpeting their council tax freeze. What they fail to mention, however, is that instead of saving the taxpayer money, the council are in fact taking a hefty sum of taxpayers' money from the government to keep council tax at its current level.
Then, the council spends taxpayers' money on lucrative advertising space to tell us all how much money they've saved us. On top of this, the advertisements seem to serve no other purpose but as free publicity for the Labour party with the public footing the bill. Surely that's just immoral?
