A rare sight met Sussex beachcombers when stormy weather washed these blue lobsters ashore in Littlehampton beach on Tuesday.
Chris Kevon, who photographed them, said: “There were some amazing things washed up on the beach this afternoon including these two lobsters.”
Steve Savage, a marine biologist based in Sussex, said: “I am assuming they are alive or their shells would have collapsed.
“Most people think lobsters are pink but that is only after they are cooked.
“This is incredibly unusual - these are very large and it is not something you would normally see.
“They have probably been blown ashore by the story weather - but it is a mystery really.”
