A main road into Hove was shut this morning for fears of black ice after a collision.
The A2038 King George VI Avenue was closed off this morning at the roundabout with the A27 and A2023 Nevill Road.
A motorcyclist fell on the black ice at about 7.45am and as a car swerved to avoid them, it hit a fence.
A Highways Agency crew were on the scene to assess the danger of the ice and to decide if a gritter was needed.
But the road reopened at about 9.30am.
