The Old Shoreham Road could be closed for three days because of a burst water main.

West Sussex County Council tweeted: "Road closure - Old Shoreham Road, Shoreham. Police request to shut road after water main burst outside the Red Lion pub."

A Sussex Police tweet just said: "A283 Shoreham likely to be shut for 2 to 3 days. Not good news with Grinstead Lane, Lancing also shut."

West Sussex County Council said: "This closure has been caused by a burst water main and was closed at the request of Sussex Police."

It's not Old Shoreham Road as such but the exit from at the roundabout at the Western extremity.

Don't be silly, were all on meters now. There will never be another hosepipe ban as they want out money.

Grinstead Lane has been shut for the last 3 or so days. No access to it from the A27..
2 of the 3 main routes into Shoreham/Lancing now are shut, and forcing all traffic down Busticle Lane / Western Road.. utter carnage.

And with one lane of the A27 being shut Eastbound, it's best to avoid the area if you can.
