Is it safe to assume a crash is a daily occurence on this road?

"Safe" is probably the wrong word to use here, Stoney33, but I know what you mean. There are far too many accidents on this road.
I drove very slowly through that section shortly after the collision had occurred, and before the emergency services arrived. It appeared to involve at least four vehicles.

Cue comments by an armchair traffic expert blaming it all on the tunnels design. It couldn't possibly be caused by incompetent dopes speeding for the conditions or fiddling with their beloved smartphones.

Driving too fast causes crashes - granted. Tunnel not problem - granted. But why did we the taxpayer spend over 2million a year and a half ago and sit through endless roadworks while they put new drainage in that stretch of road because of all the flooding, only to have to sit through all the flooding. Why not divide the money up between all the drivers going through that road every day and just give it to us in cash as an apology for all the waiting!
