Hundreds queue for opening on TK Maxx store in Hove

First published in News

Hundreds of shoppers arrived for the much anticipated opening of Hove's new TK Maxx store.

The retailer's latest branch opened at the Goldstone Retail Park on Old Shoreham Road this morning and welcomed masses of shoppers - the first 500 receiving a £10 in-store voucher.

Bargain hunter Elizabeth Corsans was the first in the queue and was given the task of cutting the ribbon to officially opening the store, which sells clothes and other goods.

Store manager Marie Clout said: “We are very excited to be opening up the new store and we look forward to bringing big savings on brands to Hove shoppers.”

not at all...you can get real bargains, why pay over the top? Saying that, I found the mens section quite small and a limited selection. Will go back to the North St store I think...

There has been news recently that stock is made specially for TKMaxx by Designer firms and lesser ones too. The North St. shop looks down at heel with rubbish leftovers mostly. I have bought one fab black polo neck that fits a dream and longish; but it's only synthetic ribbed. Esprit brand. I paid £14.99 for it. A lot for me. But I live in it.

It has a glorified Pound Shop ambience IMHO.

I think that free easy parking will be this stores biggest attraction.
Anyone who drives knows what an expensive time consuming hobby it is to shop in town. Even trying to park in Tesco in Hove to nip over to George street can take 10-15mins. Will look forward to visiting this store in the near future.

Hey come on - at least this offers some employment opportunities to B&H particularly for younger people; good luck to them

That comes across as a bit snobbish Valerie....I have saved a fortune in there..Diesel jeans £50, a Cardin wool overcoat £99, a Hilfiger jacket £30.. what's so wrong with that?

I find it beyond weird that people queue for anything ! I don't mean as in'wait your turn'queueing, but what do they think they're going to miss FGS ? Its a brand new store - hello ?! Any'bargains'will be pre selected by the store anyway, especially for the dopes who think they are getting a bargain. Its probably their best day.
