A Winter Olympic hopeful braved bad weather to give free lessons in roller-skiing.
British cross-country skier Fern Cates, who is in the British Nordic development squad, wrapped up warm to tutor locals the up-and-coming sport that combines roller-skating with skiing.
Thursday’s session at the Brighton Bandstand challenged riders to keep their balance and gain speed on a set of skis with wheels on.
The sport is used by athletes to train in skiing when they can’t access snow.
The next SkiFIT sessions will be held March 2 and 9 at Preston Park Velodrome car park at 9.15am and 10.45am.
Sessions cost £6 for 12 to-25-year-olds and £12 for over 25s. For more details visit www.roller-skis.com/events/brighton-hove_seafront.
