The person killed at Moulsecoomb train station on Wednesday evening was a man in his 20s.

Officers from the British Transport Police and Sussex Police were called to the station at 6.37pm to reports a person had been hit by a train.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokeswoman from the British Transport Police (BTP) said: "BTP officers were called to Moulsecoomb Station on Wednesday February 26 after a report that a man had been struck by a train.

“Officers from BTP and Sussex Police attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 6.37pm and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

“Medics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The man’s family has been informed and a file will be prepared for the Coroner."

Sadly a well planned suicide as it's only the Ashford international that doesn't stop at moulsecoomb. Thought go out for this person and his family, the driver, medics, BTP and southern and network rail engineers (who never get mentioned) who attended site.
