A man was taken to hospital after getting his fingers crushed in a car bonnet.
 

Firefighters were called to Buttermere Way in Littlehampton at around 2.45am today.

They were alerted by paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service who needed help to get the man free.

A brigade spokesman said: “Crews were able to to release the man's fingers and he was checked over at the scene by paramedics.
 

“As he had suffered a crush injury for more than 30 minutes, he was taken to hospital for further treatment.”
