People are being urged to avoid the A27.
One lane is blocked eastbound due to very slow traffic in Hove.
Traffic news said: "Callers report lane two (Of three) is blocked where the A27 meets the A23, and before that the entry from King George VI Avenue (Hove) is also part blocked."
It is understood there is a broken down lorry.
