Spring is here! Well, technically spring arrives on March the 20th, but in the fashion world Spring is here. Retail stores are now marking down their winter stock to make way for the spring/summer collections. So it’s down with the knitted jumpers and comfy sweatshirts and in with the t-shirts and tunic dresses.

A definite icon of spring fashion will be big, bold floral print. Floral prints are the ultimate way to brighten up your wardrobe. They’re fun, feminine and easy to match up - so are considered as a spring/summer must have. Pastel colours such as mint, coral and baby blue are also a spring/summer necessities and it's about time we brightened up our wardrobes, scrapping those dull dark colours of winter.

Primark, Topshop and H&M have a very impressive spring/summer collection out at the moment. I’m particularly impresed with Primark, a student friendly budget store, as they have upped their game by selling cropped floral print shirts with coordinating skirts and tops. TopShop are also doing fabulous coordinated tops and skirt outfits in floral and pastel colours. H&M have a varied floral collection with dresses, skirts and trousers as well as shoes and bags.

According to the telegraph floral and pastels are elegant, chic and must have. I’m looking forward to looking at other stores collections as they hit the high street this month!

Here's an example of the kind of clothing you can expect to find in stores at the moment and right through to summer..
