A sex offender who tormented a passenger was caught as he got off a train after his victim photographed him on her mobile phone.

Marcin Tedorowicz, 36, of no fixed address, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday after pleading guilty to exposure – just 24 hours after the incident took place.

Tedorowicz committed the offence on Friday, February 28, on board the 1.25pm Brighton to London Victoria train service.

The court heard Tedorowicz sat next to the victim, a 38-year-old woman from East Sussex, before exposing himself and carrying out an indecent act.

The woman confronted Tedorowicz and took a picture of him on her mobile phone, which she gave to British Transport Police officers.

Two passengers identified Tedorowicz in Victoria station and he was immediately arrested.

He has now been added to the Sex Offenders’ Register for seven years.

He has also been jailed for four weeks, suspended for 12 months.

Detective Constable Andrew Parkinson said: “I’d firstly like to commend the victim and the witnesses involved for assisting officers during the investigation, which was vital to securing the swift conviction of Marcin Tedorowicz.

“If someone has made you feel uncomfortable on your journey – however minor it may seem to you – reporting it to police can help us target the perpetrator and prevent it happening to another passenger.”
