A man perched on cliffs for more than three hours.

Buses were halted following the incident in Brighton on Sunday night.

A Sussex Police statement said: “At 9.50pm we were called by a passing member of the public to cliffs at Marine Gate, Brighton, near Asda, where a man was beyond the fence and was at the clff edge. There is a drop of about 25 feet.

“Officers talked to the 42-year old local man for three hours and eventually he climbed back over the fence to safety.

“There was no violence and no injury.
