Potholes in Peacehaven are sprouting pot-plants after claims they are “big enough to plant trees in”.

Daffodils have been dotted along Downland Avenue as part of a campaign dubbed The Big Fill. Residents claim there are 30 potholes in their road and even more in the surrounding area.

Resident Peggy Madej, of East Peacehaven, said: “It feels like no one cares about us around here. A cyclist who lives on Downland Avenue said his area is now a no-go area for bikes, and someone could be seriously injured or killed.”

The government has announced it is giving an extra £140 million to councils to help with highway repairs – and the residents of East Peacehaven are begging for some of the money.

They should be careful what they wish for. If extra money goes into the coffers of the Highways dept. at ESCC it'll probably be used to extend the bus lane to Newhaven and the dangerous potholes ignored.

Well that's a sensible thing to do. Hopefully no-one will be hurt when they have to dodge plant pots left in the road.

Lots in B&H, alas not enough flowerpots in all the garden Centres to put in the holes, still thats how the green administration want it to be, allpart of the battle of getting at the motorist.
