A fire has broken out at the Golden Palace takeaway in Seaford.

Four fire engines from East Sussex Fire and Rescue are on the scene at the restaurant in High Street, Seaford.

The fire started in the kitchen area of the basement just before 2pm.

About twenty firefighters are in attendance, with four breathing apparatus units.

The engines came from Newhaven, Seaford and Eastbourne.

Well done to the professionalism of the fire crews.

Such a shame that very soon (if the council / fire authority get their own way), this one single fire would be enough to wipe out the ability to respond to anything else.

They believe that just four fire engines will be enough to deal with EVERY incident in the city.
They also want to close other stations in the county, which would leave an already stretched service, completely unable to cope.

It's YOUR fire service, and YOUR life they are risking.

Contact your local MP and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
