The Argus: Three children evacuated after early-morning Brighton fire Three children evacuated after early-morning Brighton fire

Three children were evacuated from their home when a fire raged through the first floor of a house in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters were called to Rugby Place in Brighton at 2.17am to extinguish a fire which was believed to have been started accidentally by a candle in the bathroom.

The blaze caused "signifiant damage" upstairs in the property, according to firefighters from Preston Circus Fire Station.

No mention of the Adults at the property?

Anyway, Well done AGAIN to the professionalism and dedication of the fire crews.
Always willing to risk their lives to save others.

Shame the Council / Fire Authority / Government do not appreciate the work these people do.
Instead, they look to CLOSE fire stations in the County, whilst CUTTING the number of fire engines in the city to just 4, and the number of firefighters to just 20.

It has already been shown in London (after the recent closure of stations) that people are now DYING because of these reckless, money saving ideas.

Its YOUR Fire & Rescue service, and YOUR life being put at risk.
Contact your local MP and put a STOP to it.

Have the proposed cuts been covered by The Argus? I found out about them from the ESFRS twitter a few days ago. I've not seen them on this site (although I don't read every day) and can't get the physical paper as I'm no longer living in Sussex.

Also can you not find a picture of a local fire engine not one from Hertfordshire?! It's not just nerds that spot stuff like this - it clearly says "Garston - Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue Service" in the photo..

It is well known that the argus is not a local paper so why would it bother with details when the facts often elude it.

No they have not pirate, although, infairness to the argus, they have on numerous occasions"copy and pasted"from file a lovely big red fire engine! So credit where credits due......
