Festival organisers have announced their star-studded line-up and promised it is their best yet.

Yesterday evening Shakedown announced its line-up for the 2014 festival in Brighton.

Headlining the main stage will be house legends Basement Jaxx, from Brixton, who are known for their iconic live show featuring an army of musicians and dazzling visuals.

The event was previously held in Stanmer Park and this year will move to a new home at the Waterhall Conservation Area.

Matt Priest, Shakedown promoter, said: “We’re delighted to announce our new line-up for Shakedown 2014.

“With a new summer date, a beautiful new venue and now in its fourth year, the Shakedown circus comes to Waterhall with a huge electronic line-up that cements us at the forefront of Brighton’s world famous club scene.”

He added: “We can’t wait.”

Expect to hear classics such as Red Alert, Romeo and Where’s Your Head At? from Basement Jaxx.

Joining them on the main stage will be London duo Groove Armada, who will be performing a “high octane” DJ set.

Groove Armada have produced some of the most famous dance hits of the past two decades, including I See You Baby and Superstylin’.

Electronic duo Gorgon City will also be performing, and so will Jaguar Skills, who return to the stage after their performance at the 2013 festival.

Kidnap Kid and DJ EZ have also been confirmed for the main stage.

The second stage, Audio presented Area 10, will feature acts such as MK, Lee Foss, Huxley and Riva Starr.

The Supercharged Arena, which features a line-up of bass-driven DJs, will also be returning this year with the line-up set to be announced.

This week Shakedown had its licence renewed by Brighton and Hove City Council.

Festival director Steve Jones promises that this year’s Shakedown will be the best yet.

The event will take place on July 19 from midday until 11pm.
