More than 100 fake branded T- shirts, hooded jumpers and a printing press, believed to be worth more than £2,500, have been found in a Crawley home.

The house was raided after Trading Standards officers bought and tested a number of items from eBay.

The producer is thought to have been faking up to 40 different designs of well-known sports branded clothing.

The goods were seized following the raid on the house in Ifield on Wednesday.

Councillor Lionel Barnard, West Sussex County Council’s cabinet member for residents’ services, said: “This serves as a warning and a deterrent to people who think they can sell goods via the internet undetected.”

Richard Sargeant, from Trading Standards, added: “Online trading through eBay and Facebook is on the increase and Trading Standards is proactively targeting illegal traders selling fake goods.”

No one has been charged and the investigation is continuing.
