The Argus: Same-sex wedding flash mob Same-sex wedding flash mob

A couple celebrated their same-sex marriage in style with the help of their friends and passers-by.

Phil and James Robathan, from Portslade, celebrated becoming one of the first same-sex couples to marry in England with a flash mob dance by the Palace Pier.

The dance was arranged by Phil, 40, as a complete surprise for his new husband after the pair had got married at Brighton Town Hall at 8am on Saturday.

It was a pleasure to arrange and produce this performance for the couple and a joy to take part in. Thank you to all those who came along to support the occasion, in particular members from Brighton Festival Chorus, Brighton Goes Gospel and many of my friends and family. The experience of performing with people of every age, gender and orientation all 'celebrating' together was very special and will live long in the memory!
