Pitches rolled out at Brighton and Hove Albion's new £29m training ground

First published in News

The pitches for a club's state-of-the-art new training facility have been rolled out.

Brighton and Hove Albion's £29 million training ground off Mash Barn Lane in Lancing has been gathering shape ahead of its expected opening this summer.

The facility will have more than 15 pitches, a pool, medical facilities, gym, physio rooms and offices for the club's analysts.

Executive director Martin Perry, who is overseeing the project, said: “Despite the exceptionally wet weather through the winter period, work has continued uninterrupted on our new training ground in Lancing.

“The new indoor pitch is nearing completion and the state of the art facilities including new first-team, development squad and academy training areas will be ready when the players return for pre-season training in July.”

Great news! But I do love the way the Argus seems to constantly inflate the cost of the training facility - in Jan 2011 it was £15m, in April 2012 it was £22m and now it is allegedly £29million!!
Whilst the building itself is much bigger than I imagined I cant believe that the whole thing has cost around 1/3rd of the cost of the Amex with its sheer size, all the excavation involved, vast areas of parking and infrastructure etc etc!!

My first recollection of the cost was to be `30 million` >>anyway it will be so Great or our GREAT CLUB to have this facility.
