Four addresses in one neighbourhood were burgled on the same day using tools taken from garden sheds.

At around lunchtime on March 27 four addresses were burgled in the Donnington area of Chichester.

At each burglary, in Stockbridge Gardens, Stockbridge Road, Birdham Road and Grosvenor Road, a shed was broken into and tools from the shed were used to break into the house.

Various items including electrical and computer equipment were stolen during the burglaries and the offender or offenders took a large white plastic 'BHS' bag from one address, possibly to carry away the stolen items.

Sussex Police say a man aged about 30 and wearing a hat of some kind was seen at the time, hanging around one of the burgled premises on a bicycle.

Detective Constable Mark Burgess said; "We are asking if anyone saw a man acting suspiciously in the area of Stockbridge Road, Chichester around midday or lunchtime on 27 March, or if anyone saw a man carrying a large white BHS carrier bag in that area.

“If so could they please contact us at Chichester CID on via 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 0671 of 27/3. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
