Professional skateboarders left onlookers wide-eyed in amazement as they performed tricks at a special event.
More than 150 budding boarders queued outside Brighton’s Level Skateboarding store in Ditchling Road to meet their heroes Justin Brock, Robbie Brockel and others.
The pros signed autographs and shared tips before competing in an event at The Level’s new skatepark.
Charlie Baycliff, 14, from Hove, said: “I’ve been waiting for this all week. I’ve been out on the park practicing every evening after school.”
The event was part of a week-long tour taking in UK cities including London and Bristol with six pro-skaters from the Real Skateboards Brand taking part.
Simon Russell, who owns the Level Skateboarding store, said: “I think skating died a lot with the old Level, it was awkward for about seven years or so because there wasn’t much in the park other than a few bits of wood.
“It’s a massive community now for all the kids coming down. Everyone’s in the family, kids just come into the shop to talk about things.”
Pro skater, Justin Brock, from North Carolina, handed out tips to those who had come down. He said: “Just eat, breath, live skating. That’s what I did. I started when I was eleven and I’ll continue for as long as I can.”
