A collection of spectacular hairstyles wowed the audience at special show this week.

City College Brighton and Hove hairdressing students and their models showcased a wide range of weird and wonderful designs with their tribal-themed show.

The event, which was held in the college's main hall, gave students the chance to let their imaginations run riot with Native American and African themes alongside all manner of fantastical Hollywood and Disney-inspired styles.

The event was a charity fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support and involved around 150 students along with VIP guests from Vidal Sassoon and Pivot Point.

Keith Turner, from Vidal Sassoon, said: “I was amazed by the students’ enthusiasm and the standards they reached.

“To come up with such incredible styles and carry them off is fantastic and a real tribute to the college.”

Rachel Turner, the college hairdressing team leader, said: “There’s always a certain amount of nerves and trepidation with such a big show but the way in which all the students have pulled together to make it such a success is amazing.

“Everywhere I’ve looked, I’ve seen stunning creations and this is definitely one of the most impressive shows I’ve ever witnessed at the college.”
