Well what did you expect with a large itinerant population, 24/7 drinking and hundreds of students whose sole aim is to get plastered and laid anytime.

Bring back an in-tolerant society please.

My partner and a student were the only people to intervene and stop the man from getting his head stamped on further. They helped him and phoned the police who arrived quickly. Other bystanders just videoed the poor man getting beaten up. Yes they were street drinkers and yes they were drunk but no-one helped. If you feel too afraid of getting involved in helping someone, at least dial 999. This is a human being who for whatever reason ended up on the street.

I heard about this from a friend who praised the police and how they dealt with it. Such a shame things happen like this in our town. The young Sergeant running around was pleasing on the eye to (apparently )

I saw the poor guy lying on the ground, not moving. The police were arresting a young guy. A couple of hours later, the whole area was cordoned off and forensics were examining the scene, I assume the guy sadly died.

So what else is new? Is there ever a time when there are not drunks shouting and arguing in the so-called pedestrian street, with its hideous seating? This is the centre of town (sorry, city), the place where Brighton shows off its culture to the rest of the world, yet the constant sight of this ugly and intimidating behaviour is enough to put off any visitor. I am always impressed with the tactful manner in which the police deal with it, but isn't it time the council stepped in and tried to resolve it?

So which particular drunks are we talking about? Because social drunks are also prevelant in Brighton. They vomit and urinate and pick fights. But they are respectable so thats ok then. A load of drunk stags roaming around the city frighten me more to be honest.
