IT was Onesie Wednesday at the Winsford Academy as pupils came together to raise money and awareness of autism.
Sixth form student, Kristin Latham, organised the event on April 2, which saw staff and pupils don their best all-in-ones to generate hundreds of pounds for the National Autistic Society.
The 18-year-old said: “We have children with autism at the school, but some pupils might not understand what it is, and treat people with autism differently.
“Autistic people are often very intelligent and very creative. I wanted to organise the day to get the message across that it’s ok to be different.”
Onesie participants were asked to raise a minimum £10 each, while a homemade cake sale featuring gingerbread donated by Roberts Bakery further increased funds to £326.
