A man will appear in court charged with 31 burglaries, including Sussex homes.

John McDonagh is one of a number of people who has been charged with committing burglaries.

The 30-year-old, of Brideale Close, London, allegedly raided numerous properties across the south, including a number in Sussex, and stole electrical equipment, jewellery and shotguns.

He has been bailed to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on April 17 charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and two charges of burglary.

Andrzej Szereszewski and Marcin Lewondoski have both been charged with burgling a home in Lyon Street West, Bognor. Szereszewski, 30, of Dorset Road, Bognor, and Lewondoski, of Neville Road, Bognor, will appear at Chichester Crown Court at a date not yet set.

Liam Cook, 21, of Shoreham Road, Orpington, and Edward Bignall, 46, of Chorley Wood Crescent, Orpington, have been charged with breaking into a house in Willow Road, Horsham, to steal the keys to a Porsche Cayenne. They will appear at Lewes Crown Court at a date which has not yet been set.

Anthony Ryan, 35, of Dorchester Gardens, Worthing, has been charged with a burglary in Valencia Road in the town. He was released on bail to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on April 15.

There have also been recent arrests for burglaries in Wellington Gardens, Bognor, Broomfield Road and Winden Avenue, Chichester, Strawberry Field, Pulborough, Stocker Road, Selsey, High Street, Littlehampton, Westbrook Way and Lennox Road, Worthing, and Tweed Lane, Crawley.

Detective Inspector Dave Wardley-Wilkins said: “Burglars don’t stick to county boundaries so it is important that teams from across the south-east work together to catch them.”
