St Pancras Fayre to kick off Battle of Lewes anniversary celebrations

A medieval army and marching bands will be among of the historic entertainment on offer at the anniversary of the Battle of Lewes.
This year marks 750 years since the nation-shaping battle between the rebellious barons and Henry III.
The Feast of Saint Pancras Fayre will be held on May 10 to mark the day and kick off a week of commemoration.
The bumper week of celebrations will begin with a re-enactment of Henry III's army marching into town across the Cliffe Bridge.
The fair will continue in Priory Park where there will be entertainment, food, arts and crafts and numerous medieval themed activities such as crossbow shooting.
This year's event will also feature a Battle of Lewes Bash to take the merriment into the evening featuring barn dancing and medieval music at the All Saints Centre on Friars Walk.
Admission to the fair is £2, under 12s go free and advance tickets for the after party are now on sale for £7.15 from the Union Music Store, Lansdown Place and online at www.wegottickets.com.
Tickets will also be available on the door for £8.
