VIDEO: Biker given one last journey for funeral in Brighton
A motorbike enthusiast went out in style when his coffin was towed to the crematorium by a roaring trike.
Barry ‘Bear’ Flood took one last journey behind his favourite motor vehicle when he was driven from Ringmer Football Club to Woodvale Crematorium in Lewes Road, Brighton.
Mr Flood, 66, died in Lewisham Hospital on March 18 from a head injury sustained in a motorbike accident last year.
He was a member of the Newhaven Cruiser biker club and was given his ‘Bear’ nickname thanks to his impress stature.
Yesterday scores of friends, families and fellow bikers donned their leathers and lined the streets for his funeral procession.
His friend Ian Dorion said: “He was an enormous geezer at 6’4 and 23 stone. That’s how he got his nickname.
“He loved a trike and had a three-wheeler himself.
“He sadly had a bad accident last year and died a few weeks ago from a brain injury.
“He will be missed but he won’t be forgotten.”
